The Lehighton Borough Utility Office is transitioning to a new billing software, so our online payment portal will be shut down for 2 or 3 business days beginning 4:00 AM March 5. During this time, no card payments will be accepted in-person or over the phone. The Office will be CLOSED Monday, March 9 for software updates and employee training.

What does this mean for residents?

If you pay your utility bill online or come in to use a card, you’ll simply need to wait until next week to make your payment. If you incur a late fee while our system is down and you typically use these services, you will receive additional payment grace period. If you pay in person with a check, in person with cash, or through direct withdrawal, there will be no change to your payment services. The outdoor dropbox on North Street will remain open 24/7 for your convenience.

What comes next?

The online payment portal and card services will be reactivated sometime early next week, hopefully by Tuesday afternoon, March 10. Once our new billing software is fully up-and-running, you should see no changes to your bill format or to your payment options.

After 7+ months of being closed for construction, the D&L trail fully reopend to the public on Saturday September 28th. We encourage all trail goers to resume using the trail and observe the (2) new concrete spillways that have been constructed in place of the old wooden structures that were once there. That means your Public Works team will periodically vacuum leaves from the street gutter lines for your convenience.

We kindly ask that you limit any leaves in the street before the upcoming storm, which is on the radar for tomorrow. Wet leaves are hard to suck up!

Do not place anything besides leaves at the gutter line. Do not place any additional yard waste. That includes mulch, grass clippings, and branches. These types of yard waste may be deposited in our yard waste dumpster located at the Public Works garage.

Leaf collection will continue through the last week of November. Once we have a final collection date, we will advertise it on our Facebook page and the Borough website.

The Borough will be clearing snow from the West Side of Third Street, Coal to Division - EVEN and West side of 4th Street, Alum to deadend this Thursday, February 19.

Please ensure that you remove your vehicles from these areas each day before 7:00 am or risk ticketing and towing.
